When you say 'direct', you don't mean wiring the two boxes to
each other, without a connection to a telephone central office, do you?
That won't work. The ISDN frames sent out from a TE are different from those
sent to the TE from the Central Office. The PC or Mac will have to initiate a
phone call to the other TE to connect, unless you happen to have a network
simulator laying around.
